Gave it a try for the first time since the storm. Went through MBI-- water in the inlet is dark brown and ugly. worked out about 10 miles and couldn't believe it but I found some decent looking green water. put out cigars on downriggers and a top line caught 1 small king and missed one (both on the surface line, interestingly enough). picked up and moved about 3 miles towards the 10 mile boxcars, only to find the water there is the same ugly brown as the inlet. never really saw a color change or rip line but there was a definite difference in the water color. water
temp about 76-78 degrees. not a lot of bait anywhere (saw 1 pod of bait with false albacore under it about 10 miles from the inlet but it sounded before I trolled up to it). Hope that green water keeps coming in...

We went out in the skiff nearshore for Redfish a few days ago and the water was weird to say the least. We'd be going down the beach and it would go from nasty to green to crap to green to just rank - tide didn't seem to help/hinder. The ICW was similar, pockets of clean butted up against nasty brown on higher water. =/ We netted finger mullet coming in by the thousands with the rising tide and caught a few Redfish off the beach. You can see an idea of the water color in one area we fished in the pic below. =/
